Here's a surprising find. It's auction house Christie's mobile app. Who'd have thought an auction app could be so compelling? But, it is. If you're even the tiniest bit of an art-nerd, the Christie's app for iphone and ipod is a great time waster. It lets you check out upcoming auctions and browse the through the items. Surprisingly good stills with a moderate amount of zoom make this one of the more engaging apps for contemporary art viewing on the go. Plus, it's free.
